Research & Policy Assistant

 

Yfoundations is looking for a Research and Policy Assistant to join our new Research and Policy Division.

Are you passionate about making difference to young people's lives through research and advocacy?

Do you have experience working with research data to publish research and evaluate projects?

Yfoundations is the Peak Body for youth homelessness in NSW with a national voice on Youth Homelessness.

Yfoundations works primarily in the interests of young people by promoting the foundations that are essential for young people to flourish and to end youth homelessness

We engage with, the whole of Government, local Councils, Research Institutions, young people and the community to inform policy reform and advocate to end youth homelessness.

Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications and/or working towards a qualification in a relevant postgraduate social science discipline. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly for a variety of purposes. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to interact professionally and confidently with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Effective organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work with limited supervision as part of a small team. 
  • Good IT skills, including experience using the Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Dedication to helping progress Yfoundations’ goal of ending youth 
  • Experience working in or with the community and/or homelessness sector. 
  • Knowledge of New South Wales social policy, in particular the child protection, youth justice, homelessness and housing sector. 
  • Data analysis skills, including knowledge of SPSS
