Research and Innovation Services supports the University's research performance and profile by efficient and effective research administration and the provision of high level administrative and infrastructure research support activities.

The Strategy and Performance team provides best practice advice and support to the University's research community, the Division's senior executive, and the Division's internal stakeholders, in relation to:

  • research profile and communication strategies and outcomes;
  • the provision of quality research data analysis and business intelligence to inform the Division's strategic programs; and
  • the implementation of strategic initiatives to support the growth of research across the institution.

Under the leadership of the Manager Performance & Strategy, the Strategic Initiatives Team coordinate strategic and operational activities across the Division.

The Research and Innovation Division at UoN has created a new team that will create, implement and manage business intelligence, reporting and data to inform the development of critical enterprise strategies and initiatives relating to research growth and performance. The Strategy and Performance team will be responsible for acquiring and transforming data into meaningful, actionable information, providing this to stakeholders across the University, and developing and implementing strategic initiatives in line with the University's New Futures strategic plan.

 

About the role

The Strategic Implementation Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive research and administrative support in the implementation of strategic initiatives, business improvement activities and special projects to ensure their successful delivery.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Strategic Initiatives, the Strategic Implementation Officer will build effective relationships with team members, colleagues within the Division, key academic and administrative stakeholders and relevant officers of other institutions and collaborative partners.

You will:

  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, i.e. Research Advantage program through planning and implementing small short term projects as part of a longer term strategic plan;
  • Implement evaluation tools and contribute to reports as required;
  • Develop and support effective communication mechanisms between stakeholders and the project team; and
  • Contribute to the Strategic Initiatives Team strategic planning processes and outcomes.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, data management and reporting; and business intelligence analysis.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Australian research environment.
  • High level of organisational and relationship management and networking skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including capacity to build and develop relationships and mutually beneficial partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to generate a strong sense of team spirit, co-operation and collaboration within and across teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement as a basis for service delivery.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.

HEW Level 6 - $74,175 to $81,847 plus contributory superannuation with Unisuper, attracting a generous employer contribution of 17%.
