 About this Opportunity

As a leading acoustics specialist, you will apply advanced skills to undertake research in the field of noise and its relation to sustainable industry in the marine environment with a particular focus on the impacts of noise on invertebrates, fish and marine reptiles.

 You will work with an inter-disciplinary team and contribute your quantitative skills and scientific creativity to generate, develop and deliver externally funded research focused on improving the understanding of the impacts of marine noise. 

 This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading organisation with attractive working conditions including a 9-day fortnight, generous leave entitlements, a salary range of $99,609 - $147,312 and 15.4% superannuation.  This role is being offered for a minimum 5 year term and will be based in Perth, Western Australia.

About You

You will have strong skills in marine ecology combined with a high level of understanding of the physics of underwater acoustics and be able to demonstrate:

  • PhD and postdoctoral experience related to underwater acoustics or bioacoustics;
  • Strong coding skills;
  • Ability to initiate quality research efforts, fostering a collaborate culture amongst multi-disciplinary researchers and external partners; and
  • Evidence of high impact publications on marine noise.
