About the opportunity 

The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) is a leader in clinical trials research in Australia, coordinating its own and assisting others in conducting various multi-centre clinical trials and promoting evidence-based medicine in Australia.

Opportunities now exist for suitably qualified and experienced staff to join the Centre and contribute to clinical trials research. The Clinical Trials Administrative Assistant is responsible for undertaking administrative and data entry tasks, providing administration assistance to support clinical trials and research programs as well as general office and administration duties supporting senior staff.

The Clinical Trials Assistant works as part of the clinical trials research team in a support role, providing administration and data entry support to clinical trials projects, managers and staff in one or more clinical trial studies concurrently. The successful applicant may also undertake associated clerical duties for collaborative groups and CTC services.

We are looking for a Clinical Trials Administrative Assistant (HEO 4) who possesses:

  • completed diploma or Certificate IV or equivalent work experience in an administrative or office based environment
  • previous experience working in a high volume administrative work environment
  • excellent communication skills including effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • previous experience providing administrative support in a clinical environment will be an added advantage
  • knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice
  • advanced computer literacy skills.

We are looking for a Clinical Trials Assistant (HEO 5) who possesses:

  • completed Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in clinical trials administration, or experience in a similar field
  • Basic understanding of GCP guidelines, contracts management and protocols for clinical trials
  • Well-developed data entry skills, tracking and diary management and excel spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of medical terminology/clinical trials terminology.

The positions are in Oncology trials and you will be joining other trials staff working on studies involving gynaecological oncology, neuro-oncology and other potentially other speciality oncology areas.

The positions are fixed term for 12 months, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new employees. There is the possibility of further offers of employment subject to funding, performance and need.
