The DVC Research Portfolio currently includes six groups that support the DVCR and researchers to achieve the University's research goals.

As Ethics Administration Officer you will:

  • respond to general enquiries about human and animal research ethical requirements
  • maintain systems to ensure all information in relation to the operations of the unit are accurately stored
  • prepare monthly agendas for human and animal ethics committees
  • take minutes of meetings in the absence of the other team members
  • manage, monitor and process annual and final reports received from researchers
  • be a part of an enthusiastic and supportive team with a variety of skills and expertise
  • have the opportunity to work with researchers from various disciplines.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • a strong interest in and understanding of human and animal research ethics
  • the ability to communicate with a broad range of people both inside and outside the University
  • the ability to collate and analyse administrative data to be incorporated into reports
  • experience developing and testing new procedures and participating in streamlining of administrative processes.

This is a full-time fixed term available for up to nine months, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. The current occupant of this position is on leave and has the right to return to this position on expiration of leave or sooner by giving four weeks notice.

Remuneration package: $77K p.a. (which includes a base salary of $65K p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
