Data Research and Evaluation Officer

 

Kummara Ltd. is a Not for Profit, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Brisbane delivering family support and early years services to meet children and family needs across all cultural groups and specifically the wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in greater Brisbane and Ipswich areas. Kummara provides both culturally specific as well as the whole of community programs.

About the role

The Data Research and Evaluation Officer is responsible for the effective and efficient research evaluation and data management for services & programs operated by Kummara, as well as supporting a process for evaluation and ensuring operational quality. This role is responsible to guide service direction and ensure programs are delivered in a manner congruent with service agreements, strategic and operational plans, regulatory requirements and the relevant practice model and methods.

About you

  • You are positively crazy about data and evaluation!  You have experience conducting evaluations, collecting data from vulnerable groups, as well as developing and analyzing survey results. 
  • You have well-developed skills and ability to effectively analyse data and visualisation skills that means messages are easily understood by a range of audiences.
  • You are extremely well organised and have strong time management skills with capacity to work autonomously though enjoy collaborating with a broad range of team members, stakeholders, service users and wider community. 
  • You possess strong skills in managing projects and are always looking to learn new things and improve not only yourself but the teams you work alongside and the systems they work within. 
  • You have experience cleaning and managing large datasets. 

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, mentoring and professional development to staff (on an individual and team context) within a multi-disciplinary program operating in a social welfare context; including the ability to identify and implement key models and practices that promotes effective service delivery.
  2. Strong knowledge of the Data management evaluation and research practice frameworks and case management systems required within child and family support operations.
  3. Previous experience in driving service evaluation, data management and presentation and research including demonstrated highly developed experience in data interpretation and presentation service and development, complex practice review, change management, and project and research management.
  4. Demonstrated advanced organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively as well as manage the implementation of major organisational projects and initiatives.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to, work in alignment with the Purpose and Values of Kummara.
