The Times World University Rankings 2012-13 has been published, with the USA’s California Institute of Technology taking out the world’s number one spot, with a 95.5 ranking.

 

Close second was the University of Oxford, which scored 93.7 points, drawing equal with America’s Stanford University.

 

Longtime ranking’s leader Harvard University slipped to fourth position, recording 93.6 points, followed closely by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which recorded 93.1 points.

 

The University of Melbourne scored the highest of the Australian universities, with the University of Melbourne recording 77.9 per cent to take out 28th position.

 

The Australian National University was the second highest placed Australian institution, taking out 37th position with 75.4 points.

 

University of Sydney took out 62nd position, with 65.7 points, while the University of Queensland posted 64.4 points to take 65th position.

 

The University of New South Wales took 85th position in the global rankings, scoring 59.6 points, while Monash University took 99th position with 57.5 points.
