Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Research, the role of Research Manager works cohesively across the Department and Member Domain with a primary focus on brand and marketing effectiveness tracking and ad hoc projects to ensure our marketing and communications are best in class.
The role is responsible for the ongoing management of our brand and market tracking study. It also involves the management of both in-house and external provider research projects. You will be responsible for distilling findings into actionable insights to inform marketing and engagement initiatives across multiple channels and socialising our ongoing research.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Lead Core Research Programs for Marketing and Growth - Manage core programs work for the Marketing and Growth department to the value of $500k, this includes the continuous improvement of the Brand and Market Tracker and Creative Effectiveness program.
- Marketing Measurement Framework (MMF) - Execute and embed the best-in-class framework. Responsible for the creative effectiveness and tracking components in the MMF.
- Value Propositions - Provide meaningful and actionable customer and category insights to shape AustralianSuper's value propositions (brand, employee, advisor, business, investor)
- Creative Effectiveness - Design, implement and embed a creative effectiveness best practice process.
- Annual insights program development and delivery - Work closely with the Senior Manager to develop, manage and deliver a calendarised program of work which uncovers actionable customer insights.
- Insights leader - Be seen as a leader and advocate for the use of insights-led business decision making. Ability to influence senior executives to adopt research in decision-making. Raise the profile of the Customer Research team across the fund and externally at Research conferences and events.
- Fund KPIs - Identify and measure key brand metrics for the fund scorecard. The Research Manager is responsible for reporting these to the executives each quarter.
What you'll need
- Minimum 10 years of professional market research experience on both agency and client side
- Proven record of designing and executing robust brand and market tracking research programs including in service industries (e.g., telco, utilities, financial services, government)
- Experience with communications evaluation
- Deep working knowledge of customer segmentation
- Advanced written and oral communication/ interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior management and large audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and incorporate multiple data sources.
- Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and surveying tools such as Qualtrics.
- Experience with market research analysis tools such as SPSS and Q Reader, Table Builder
