About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow to take the lead in developing an innovative, unifying model for the transport of charged ions and uncharged molecules through ion exchange membranes. This exciting project aims to bridge the gap between fundamental and applied research by incorporating real-world complexities into our understanding of ion transport.

This is an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in applying ion exchange membrane technology to applications ranging from hydrogen electrolysis to bioprocessing. We encourage you to apply and be a part of our groundbreaking research initiative.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing mechanistic models of ion equilibria and ion transport
  • Supporting PhD students in their experimental work in this field
  • Becoming fully immersed in the research culture of the Faculty.
  • Publishing your results in top tier peer-reviewed journals.

Who We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated researcher, with research experience in process modelling, transport kinetics or chemical equilibria. You will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You will also have:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, applied mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Completion of a PhD with a focus on process modelling, transport kinetics or chemical equilibria
  • Ability to undertake research under limited supervision and deliver against research objectives.
