Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Post Graduate Fellow to join our team at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!

We are looking for a Post Graduate Fellow in Colorectal Surgery! The primary purpose of the role of the Post Graduate Fellow in Colorectal Surgery is to provide program of additional training to develop subspecialty interests in Colorectal Surgery and to further develop core clinical skills required in this area. The Post Graduate Fellow will have completed advanced training to become a specialist medical practitioner in Colorectal Surgery, or have completed specialist training in another discipline relevant to the Fellowship training program.

The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Colorectal Surgery at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Colorectal Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as required. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development. 

The Fellow will be responsible for making the day-to-day management decisions arising from the ward round of the in patients, however all decisions will be reviewed by the supervising consultant, as all consultants round daily during the week on all patients under their care. There is also a Consultant-led ward round on weekends.

The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised specialist qualifications in General Surgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. (Note: Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.)

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
