Manager, Data Technology

As the Manager of Data Technologies, you will inspire, guide, and lead highly engaged and skilled people from the Bank internal teams as well as vendors’ teams. You will leverage your leadership experience to ensure ongoing positive engagements with staff and our business users. You will lead and manage your team to support the Bank’s strategic focus areas.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead your staff to ensure the support of the Bank’s strategic and operational priorities.
  • Provide strong knowledge of best practices in the design, development/coding, and support of the Bank’s enterprise data solutions, both on-prem and Cloud.
  • Ensure good user experience with the Bank’s enterprise data technologies and processes to promote data sharing and insight reports at the Bank, particularly in the areas of data science, analytic, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Review, identified and managed technologies, contracts, vendors and people culture risks.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong problem-solving and management skills in a fast-paced diverse organisation.
  • Experience in leading and coaching staff and vendors to uplift maturity in the Bank’s processes and service capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence and partner effectively with key stakeholders across the Bank and external vendors.
  • Good understand of coding, development, technology integration and data risks, and experience in simplifying, automating, hardening, and maturing processes would be highly regarded.
  • Experience with designing and managing technology platforms for high availability and security is highly desirable.

Your background

  • Previous experience designing, developing code/scripts that leverage structured data from various sources using statistical tools (e.g. R, Git)
  • In-depth knowledge of the R programming language and associated packages (e.g. the Tidyverse). 
  • Knowledge of databases.
  • Review and uplift the control governance and planning processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and communicates them effectively to our staff and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain positive and collaborative engagement style to drive and maintain a strong partnership.
