About The Role:

We are seeking a Research Agronomist to be based in the idyllic location of Corowa, NSW. You will work collaboratively with our team of research agronomists to achieve trial program objectives and be involved in all aspects of crop protection trial work, in both broadacre and horticultural crops.

A typical week in the role would see the successful applicant:

  • Manage an established trial program by following protocol objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local growers.
  • Safely apply agrichemical treatments and other maintenance products throughout the trial life cycle.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of the trial and accurately record data.
  • Openly communicate with clients and internal stakeholders on trial findings.
  • Working with the Kalyx Research Support Officers to ensure data and final reports are presented accurately, on time and within guidelines
  • Championing the values of Kalyx and building the Kalyx brand in your local community.

Due to the nature of the role, there may be requirements for some overnight travel and additional work hours during peak periods.

About You:

The role will suit a highly adaptable, and organised person with strong capabilities in prioritising work and a passion for agriculture. You will also:

  • Have a degree in Agricultural Science (or similar) and/or a 3 years’ experience working in horticulture and/or broadacre crop types. 
  • Be passionate about agriculture and understand horticulture and/or grain production farming systems in Australian agriculture.
  • Understand trial protocols.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills in building and sustaining relationships.
  • Be proficient in data interpretation and report writing.
  • Have a high attention to detail.
