JCU Cairns are offering a full time, one year fixed term appointment for a Senior Research Worker (HEWL 6 $75,723 - $82,015) within the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine (AITHM).

 

What you can accomplish in the role

This exciting, new opportunity enables you to work alongside world-leading researchers in a laboratory at the JCU Cairns campus with a focus on the development of peptide-based therapeutics. This includes peptide synthesis, purification and characterization including structural studies and in vitro biological assays.

What you will bring to the role

To ensure your success in the role, you will have skills in peptide synthesis, mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and structural studies, as well as familiarity with cell assays. You will bring a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Science or Applied Science with extensive experience in peptide chemistry and cell culture or an equivalent combination of experience in research and/or technical achievements and/or education/ training. Experience in vivo studies will be highly regarded however is not essential.
