We currently have the opportunity for a Learning Experience Manager to join the Education team, reporting to the Associate Dean. This is a creative and innovative role that ensures that the UTS College Model of Student-Centred Learning is embedded within all UTS College learning & teaching curricula and practices, and has overall responsibility for the design and delivery of Scholarly teaching modules and professional development of all teaching staff.



About the role
This position is responsible for:

  • Academic Staff Development
    • Leading and supporting the development of UTS College teaching staff scholarship of learning and teaching
    • Developing and implementing fit for purpose learning and development initiatives and interventions to enhance the quality of teaching practices, in collaboration with the Learning & Performance Specialist where appropriate
    • Academic leadership of the Graduate Certificate in Student Centred Learning (postgraduate program)
    • Observing classes to evaluate the effectiveness of learning approaches, and providing advice and support on improvements
    • Conducting regular reviews of the scholarship framework, providing insights and recommendations to support continuous improvements and innovation
    • Leading and coordinating the implementation of best practice learning and teaching, providing support and mentoring to build skills and create a community of practice
  • Learning Design & Development
    • Providing high-level strategic advice and support to the Associate Dean on the development, implementation, support and evaluation of the educational design models and integrated curriculum frameworks at UTS College
    • Leading the development of strategic initiatives to improve assessment design and the establishment of high-quality frameworks and guidelines
    • Leading the development and ongoing enhancements of innovative learning & teaching materials and practices
    • Utilising the student experience to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and teaching practices and making changes as needed
    • Managing and leading the Learning Experience Designer team in the development and design of best practice learning & teaching
    • Providing direction and support to the Academic Coordinators in the development and continuous improvement of academic subjects following the implementation of the Integrated Model of Learning

About you
To succeed in this role you must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND a master’s degree in Adult Education (essential)
  • A Research degree in Adult Learning (desirable)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an equivalent role in the tertiary education sector
  • Extensive experience in learning design, working with academic curriculum development and innovation in teaching
  • Extensive experience with academic staff development and training (including developing and facilitating Professional Development programs to build individual capabilities in learning and teaching)
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of educational technologies and the design and implementation of blended learning
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify and implement innovative technologies and pedagogies
  • Strong team leadership skills with the ability to foster teamwork, mentor individuals and contribute positively to the team
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships at all levels
