The Queensland Department of Health is partnering with the University of Queensland (UQ) and the Digital Health CRC (DHCRC) to support the emergence of a new breed of interdisciplinary leader who can use evidence and thought-leadership to help shape the digital transformation of healthcare in Queensland and become leaders in Australia and globally. The DHCRC funding includes scholarships for three Ph.D. students and one postdoctoral fellow to deliver a coordinated set of subprojects that address the digital priorities of Queensland Health, including those of the Queensland Clinical Networks Executive (QCNE), eHealth Queensland (eHQ), and the Office of the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO).
Although this position is based administratively in the UQ Business School, the substantive position is thoroughly interdisciplinary. You will work across the university with colleagues from the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law, the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology.
As the Research Fellow, you will have two primary research responsibilities; to conduct a coordinated set of proposed and agreed research studies; and to provide research method guidance to the three PhD students within the DHCRC. You will provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to the PhD cohort and peers across the system to accelerate the effective digital transformation of the healthcare system.
Our Ideal Candidate
You will hold a PhD in Business, Medicine, Health and Behavioural Science, Health Economics, Information Technology, Health Services, or Health Informatics. You will have experience conducting and publishing research in health service context and strong methodological skills. Strong knowledge of the effects of electronic medical record systems and other digital health systems and experience assessing and improving the impacts from investments in digital health will be essential.

What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, fixed term (three year) position at Academic level B.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $112,229 - $115,888 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $131,308 - $135,590.
