Research Fellow - Occupational Therapy (Conjoint with The Prince Charles Hospital)

On behalf of the Metro North Hospital and Health Service, The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) and The Faculty of Health and Behavioral Sciences, University of Queensland (UQ) we seek a vibrant and exceptional person to consider the opportunity of becoming a Research Fellow – Occupational Therapy (OT).
This position will be required to operate within UQ in partnership with the Allied Health Research Collaborative (AHRC), TPCH. The aim of the position is to enhance the research capabilities of both institutions in the area of OT and provide strategic planning for a joint allied health research plan aligned with UQ and TPCH, that contributes to best practice outcomes from allied health practitioners.
The appointee will be involved in planning, undertaking and publishing clinically-based research activities based on agreed research priorities in a field relevant to Occupational Therapy services provided at TPCH. The appointee is also expected to be involved in the supervision of postgraduate students.
The collaboration between UQ and MN HHS strengthens the clinical and education interface, providing an opportunity for the appointee to advance medical education and research, and deliver outstanding clinical services.
Our Ideal Candidate
You will hold a PhD in Occupational Therapy within a research area of relevance to OT services provided at TPCH. This will be partnered with experience undertaking and publishing research in adult OT/knowledge translation, along with evidence of successful grant applications and management of external research funding. Your experience to date will also include supporting and supervising staff and/or postgraduate students undertaking research. Above all else, you will be able to demonstrate a collaborative work approach, strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of flexibility, initiative, and autonomy.

Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency

What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, fixed term position for 3 years. As UQ will be the employing entity, this appointment will be made at Academic Research level B.
The base salary will be in the range $97,590- $115,888, plus super of up to 17%. The total package will be in the range $114,181 - $135,590.
