We are establishing a new team of scientific computing eResearch analysts and are looking for driven problem solvers to join this team. As a member of the team, you will be embedded alongside researchers in one of DST’s Research Domains to provide engineering and data science solutions, in a cutting edge research environment. You will be expected to work and deliver solutions in a fast paced agile workplace delivering benefits regularly to the researchers you are working with.

A successful candidate will have and continue to develop a strong research computing skillset in cutting edge areas such as machine learning and will gain an expertise in the broader eResearch domain. All positions collaborate and partner closely with DST researchers to understand their priorities and to develop solutions to meet their scientific needs. They will contribute to complex eResearch activities including researching, designing, developing, testing and installing solutions for defence research. They will employ professional judgement and initiative in recommending eResearch solutions to science problems in a security constrained environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply analytical skills to implement solutions that meet the challenging needs of DST researchers.
  • Anticipate future research needs by keeping abreast of relevant scientific computing advances and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to both DST research projects and IM&T scientific computing projects.
  • Understand and be responsive to DST’s research needs across one or more of the Defence scientific domains, accelerating the application and outcomes from advanced scientific computing infrastructure, software and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with DST researchers and the broader Information Management &Technology staff.
