RESEARCH SCIENTIST

  • $58,207 – $79,790 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term, 3 years
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Hamilton (flexibility may be available)

In this position, your focus will be research projects that aim to improve the profitability of pasture based dairy systems. Through the use of innovative research and science excellence, supported by technical efficiency, business processes, technology adoption and knowledge management, you will undertake innovative research activities within the DairyFeedbase program.

For your application to be successful, you will demonstrate –

  • a degree in agricultural science, science or an equivalent science qualification;
  • knowledge of the principles and operation of ruminant production systems, preferably with a dairy focus;
  • research experience in pasture agronomy, and use of non-invasive sensor technologies;
  • ability to effectively present results of research to a range of audiences;
  • sound verbal and oral communication skills, including report writing ability; and
  • an understanding of the principles of Work Health and Safety.

The position of Research Scientist is part of the Animal Production Sciences Branch in the Agriculture Victoria Research Division of the Employment, Investment and Trade Group.

The Employment, Investment and Trade Group delivers programs and services to grow the Victorian economy. Its focus is on creating jobs and raising incomes through industry development, targeted investment and increasing the export value of Victorian firms.
