QBiotics Group Limited (QGL), established in 2000, is an Australian public unlisted life sciences company which develops and commercialises new chemical entities discovered from Australia's tropical rainforests. Our focus areas are oncology and wound healing where we develop products for both the human and veterinary pharmaceutical markets.

QGL has an exciting opportunity open to deliver human clinical development projects.  The position is a permanent, full time role and will ideally be based in our office in inner west Brisbane.

The primary responsibilities of this position are the design, implementation and reporting of human clinical trials that meet the standards of excellence for ethics, scientific merit, and regulatory compliance, as well as satisfy corporate goals. This role will provide leadership and mentoring to an established small human clinical team. In addition, the successful applicant will manage contracted providers, investigators and collaborators in the clinical research program.

Essential Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess highly developed problem-solving skills with the proven ability to generate ideas and opportunities and turn them into successful results. They will be comfortable and adept at managing an environment with rapidly changing organisational needs and be a team player/builder with an entrepreneurial spirit, ability to generate positive group dynamics, and capacity to grow and assume greater responsibility. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable adapting to working for a growing organisation and possess an enthusiastic attitude towards managing whilst also being very hands on.

The following qualifications and experience are essential:

-  BSc PhD in an appropriate scientific discipline and /or MD;

-  At least 5 years’ experience in the design, implementation & delivery of clinical trials (Phases I -IIA/B); and

-  Proven leadership, management, organisational and negotiation skills.
