The Role

  • Fixed Term (up to 3 years), Full Time
  • $117,698 to $155,962 (plus Sub Dean allowance of $9,719 and superannuation)
  • Bathurst or Wagga Wagga
The Sub-Dean (Learning Technology and Delivery) is accountable for the performance of one of three Faculty Business Teams in the new Divisional structure. Faculty Business Teams comprise Educational Designers, Digital Media Technologists, Learning Resource Officers, and quality assurance roles; as well as centralised academic, learning technology, and learning analytics roles that link in with and support key faculty and divisional functions.

The Sub-Deans and Faculty Business Partners (FBPs) will be pivotal in implementing the approved Change Plan for the Division which has been informed by the University Strategy and a reorientation to on-the-ground results. As a senior member of staff the Sub-Deans and FBPs will be required to contribute to the overall management of the Division and strategic development of the University.

To be successful you will have:

  • A doctoral qualification in education; or a doctoral qualification in another discipline along with published scholarship relating to education; or equivalent accreditation and standing
  • A record of significant academic achievement at a national level in the scholarship of teaching, research or professional activity;
  • Experience leading, managing and supporting high functioning and collegial educational service delivery or teaching teams.

It does this through deep partnership and collaboration with the Faculties and other Divisions to operationalise the strategic activities that underpin the delivery of high quality student learning experiences and successful outcomes.

The Division of Learning and Teaching includes three Faculty-facing service teams, each providing subject and course design, development and delivery services to a specific faculty, and academic development functions supporting academic staff induction, professional learning and career development relating to teaching, and an administration team supporting the work of staff across the Division.
