How this position makes the difference to City of Melbourne… Reporting to the Social Support and Inclusion Officer, you will perform an essential role in providing a welcoming environment and be responsible for the day to day administration of the neighbourhood centres.

You will ensure high quality customer service at all times to older people and diverse community groups who use these centres. You will also be responsible for delivering the centre meals program and support the delivery of new programs as required.

Well-developed verbal communication skills including effective relationship building must be a key strength.

To be successful in this role, the Centre Support Worker will engage with and provide support to community groups, organisations and individuals that meet at the centres by actively seeking feedback and ensuring needs are met in a timely manner.

• Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence
• Qualifications  in a relevant field such as community development, recreation services etc or equivalent experience
• Experience in working with older people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service
• Demonstrated understanding of venue management and operations
