The Centre for Environmental Informatics (CEI) in the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics conducts world-leading research in high-level statistical methodology and statistical computing and their application to the environmental sciences.

The postdoctoral Research Fellow will work in the centre with Prof Noel Cressie, Dr Andrew Zammit Mangion, and environmental scientists on the recently awarded Australian Research Council (ARC) grant, “Bayesian inversion and computation applied to atmospheric flux fields.” The project aims to make use of unprecedented sources of measurements, from remote sensing and in situ data, to estimate the sources and sinks of greenhouse gases. This will be solved in the context of Bayesian spatio-temporal inversion and big-data computational strategies.
