The Opportunity
The Research Officer’s primary role will be to conduct a literature review on the effects of occupational exposures to military aviation turbine fuels (MATFs) and relevant specified solvents on adverse reproductive health outcomes in males, and epigenetics in relation to these research questions.
The incumbent will have a degree (or extensive relevant experience) in epidemiology, toxicology, public health, and/or reproductive outcomes and experience in undertaking literature review/s (preferably systematic literature reviews) and assessing epidemiological evidence. You will undertake research activities that include developing a project plan, refining the protocol for the search, undertaking the literature search, tabulating findings, drafting and finalising study reports and preparing presentations.
The incumbent will be an independent and experienced researcher with good personal and communication skills. This position will also provide some research support that includes responsibility for study documentation and for organising meetings with the research team and with the funding body.
The appointment will be for 10 months (0.8 FTE) and the incumbent will be required to start as soon as possible. The position reports to Senior Research Fellow, Dr Helen Kelsall.
