 The College of Health and Medicine is committed to transforming the health of the Tasmanian community and addressing issues in health that affect communities both nationally and internationally. The College is globally recognised for the quality of health professional education together with transformative health and medical research across health service delivery, sports and nutrition, and health issues relevant to Tasmania including chronic diseases, dementia and aged care.

The Associate Dean Learning and Teaching is a key leadership position critical to achieving the College’s strategic objectives relating to learning and teaching and academic quality. The Associate Dean is responsible for innovative course design and delivery, quality and standards, the collection and analysis of data to support continuous improvement and the scholarship of learning and teaching, and the development of rigorous assessment and course evaluation regimes. The Associate Dean contributes to debates and leads research on learning and teaching and fosters a culture of excellence, innovation and efficiency.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant health discipline and a postgraduate qualification in learning and teaching. Also essential will be evidence of research and a distinguished record of leadership in learning and teaching, inspiring team leadership, successful change management, and expertise in academic quality assurance. A qualification as a health professional would be well regarded.

The position is located in either Launceston or Hobart and offered for an initial three or five year contract period underpinned by a continuing appointment at Level D or E.
