The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health has more than 600 staff and students who are passionately committed to researching the way the brain works. We are internationally renowned for our discoveries and research on the central nervous system and associated brain disorders. Key areas of interest include addiction, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiovascular disease, depression, epilepsy, Huntington’s disease, motor neuron disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, stroke and traumatic and spinal cord injury.

 An excellent opportunity is available for a highly motivated individual to join an outstanding team of scientists and staff, and work within the Epilepsy – Ion Channels and Human Disease Laboratory at our Parkville facility. The role will primarily be responsible for molecular biology and protein biochemistry. This includes western blots, pull-down assay, mass spectrometry as well as techniques in cloning, DNA and RNA isolation. Other duties include stem cell culture, data analysis and compliance.

 An indicative salary in the range of $67,157 to $70,789 (RA2 – RA3) commensurate with experience plus 14%/17% superannuation and generous salary packaging options.
