The UTS Research & Innovation Office (RIO) is recruiting for a Research Grants Manager to take responsibility for the overall management of UTS grant submissions, including the coordination and communication of submission processes, resource planning and reporting relating to submissions and outcomes. 
 
You will partner with staff within the Research and Innovation Office (RIO), Faculty Research Offices, researchers and their collaborators to manage the submission of high-quality and competitive research grant and fellowship proposals to contribute to the development of a culture of research excellence at UTS.
 
An integral part of this role will be to coordinate the submission of competitive grant applications to the Australian Research Council and other funding bodies in areas of research focus at UTS.
 
To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about supporting research, continuous process improvement and innovation with a proven record of influencing and engaging others with your leadership skills. Exceptional project management and task prioritisation skills are essential. Your strong customer-centric focus will ensure you build lasting working relationships.
 
As the successful candidate you will have:
 
  • Extensive experience in the submission of research grant applications including ARC and NHMRC.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building highly effective working relationships with research active academics, professional research support staff, and with external stakeholders, including an ability to exercise initiative, tact and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive and confidential matters. 
  • Understanding of the Australian Competitive Research Grant environment, with particular emphasis on ARC and NHMRC grant schemes. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the rules and strategies for applying for research grants.
  • Proven self-starter able to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness with a strong interest in and motivation for a career in the research sector. 
  • Demonstrated strong organisational and project management skills to effectively manage competing priorities to meet strict deadlines. 
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $98,340 to $111,999 pa (HEW8)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for three years.
