The UTS Research & Innovation Office is recruiting for a Research Administrator to play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of strategies to increase research funding for UTS across the spectrum of projects, centres and infrastructure.

 About the Unit 

The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) is responsible for supporting the growth of University research. The Research and Innovation Office has four functional areas - Research Operations and Management, Research Engagement, Strategic Grants Development and Research Intelligence and Quality.

The Research Operations and Management team assists with grant submissions, research contracts and agreements, project management/reporting, ethics, research finance and administration. This team also covers project establishment, issue identification and resolution support throughout a project lifecycle, proposal advice and support including compliance and risk checks and submission.

About the role 

As part of the Research Operations and Management team you will be tasked with providing a diverse range of first-class administrative support within RIO and the wider UTS research community.

Your contribution will allow the unit to meet its objective of maximising research funding income and outcomes at UTS.  Day to day you will be involved in project establishment, project post award administration and reporting, project data management, proposal review and submission, contract negotiation and office wide administrative duties.

About you

Being  experienced in administration you will be able to deftly balance priorities and deadlines whilst maintaining accurate and timely records on a large and growing portfolio of funded research projects.  A born communicator, you will be comfortable liaising at a range of different levels with a diverse community of stakeholders.  Key to this role is the provision of high level customer service and as such, you will see yourself as client-focused and outcomes-driven. In an ideal world, you will also have experience working in the university sector in research administration, however this is not mandatory.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $67,614 to $77,351 pa (HEW5)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
