The UTS Research and Innovation Office is recruiting for a Faculty Research Engagement Manager to be based within the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and Faculty of Law. This opportunity will lead the development of strategies and implementation activities that generate an increased volume in research funding from industry, government and granting bodies, and where appropriate develop commercialisation opportunities that will deliver impact from research-generated intellectual property.

Detailed Description

The Faculty Research Engagement Manager will extend support from the central Research and Innovation Office into the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law.

The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of the research funding landscape for social sciences and law research in Australia and be well networked within the Australian industry, government and not-for-profit sectors.

Experience with international research funding would also be a distinct advantage.

Other main skills/experience required:

  • Broad knowledge of the University funding system in Australia and overseas, including competitive grants, major Centre funding, industry funding and commercialisation.
  • Established relationships with funders in public service, NGO and commercial organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience with drafting and reviewing research agreements.
  • Highly developed business development skills, including networking and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant technical or business discipline.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $110,808 to $116,084 pa (HEW 9)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This appointment will be on a three year fixed term, full-time basis.
