About your environment
Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Unit oversees the competitive funding for clinical and biomedical research in Victorian hospitals, universities and medical research institutes through two key Cancer Council committees. Cancer Council conducts research into many aspects of cancer and has two committees which review the ethical aspects of research involving humans - the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) which oversees the ethical aspects of this research, and the Institutional Research Review Committee (IRRC) which reviews the ethical aspects of low and negligible risk research.
