Strategic Professor Conjoint Chair in Allied Health and Wellbeing

The Faculty of Science at Charles Sturt University (CSU) spans allied health, nursing, midwifery, Indigenous health, sports and exercise sciences, dentistry, and agricultural, veterinary and environmental sciences. The CSU campus at Port Macquarie is growing rapidly with a particular presence in health areas including paramedicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and exercise science. There is growing collaboration across course delivery and clinical training, shared resources, and research between CSU and the Mid North Coast Local Health Districts (MNCLHD), including through the formal MNC Health Research Collaborative.

This position is a strategic conjoint appointment between CSU and the Mid North Coast Local Health District of NSW Health. Given the conjoint nature of the position and the collaboration between the organisations it signifies, it is expected that the incumbent will spend time equally in each. In particular, given the distributed nature of the MNCLHD and CSU sites and facilities, an extensive amount of travel will be required.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing the capacity of the respective organisations to conduct high quality research in the field of allied health, aligned with the strategic research plans of the respective organisations, and with the shared goal to impact on health outcomes and wellbeing of communities in the MNCLHD catchment area. This strategic conjoint position between CSU and MNCLHD is one that requires high levels of leadership, communication, research facilitation and capacity building. It also requires the ability to represent the two organisations and their collaborative endeavours nationally and internationally.

Applicants are expected to apply online and address the selection criteria listed in the position description.
