The Electron Microscope Unit is a central research and research training facility within the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre. EMU has 17 major instruments, a current staff of 11 and supports the research and research training of >450 researchers and research students each year. The unit is a node of the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Research Facility.
About the role
The full time position of Manager of the Electron Microscopy Unit involves supporting users of the Electron Microscope Unit in designing and undertaking high quality microscopy and microanalysis research. To be responsible for the operational management of the Unit’s laboratories and associated equipment to ensure successful delivery of the Unit’s mission in research services and training. To implement, interpret and supervise the application of Health and Safety policies and procedures within the Unit to ensure that research is performed safely. To provide strategic support to the Director and Deputy Director, and leadership to staff and students working within the Unit.
