Reporting to the Commodity Lead Beef, the Project Manager leads WWF-Australia’s direct engagement with farmers to achieve measurable outcomes for people and nature. Through a mix of field, markets and policy approaches, the role develops and undertakes on-ground field activities for the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of ecosystems in priority agricultural landscapes, focusing on beef and sugarcane. The position also plays a key role in communicating WWF's work on sustainable agriculture.

Skills, knowledge and experience

• A technical knowledge of, and experience in sustainable agriculture.
• Strong capability in building constructive relationships with rural stakeholders and audiences.
• Excellent networking, interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate complicated concepts in plain English to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including an ability to identify strategic issues and develop programs and policies with measurable outcomes.
• Project management skills, including experience relevant to conducting on-farm trials with a track record of delivery against targets.
• An ability to work independently and in a flexible team-based environment.

Qualifications and/or experience in a relevant field along with agronomic research skills is desirable.
