About us
The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute is dedicated to finding cures for cardiovascular disease and is one of the most respected heart research facilities in the world. The Victor Chang Innovation Centre, supported by leading research scientists and funded by the NSW Government, is comprised of seven cutting-edge facilities aimed at advancing cardiovascular research. The new technology platforms housed in the innovation centre are allowing us to understand how the heart works at a much deeper level and will facilitate the development of better treatments for cardiovascular disease. However, in the process we are generating vast volumes of data that require specialist scientific computing expertise to process, analyse and interpret.
The role
The successful candidate will provide specialist technical/computing support to enhance experimental methods, develop software to facilitate acquisition and analysis of data, and support use of high performance computing to maximise the impact and utility of the latest high throughput technologies. They will also reduce scientific ‘hands on time’ on process orientated activities that can be resolved by specialised computational know-how. This is a core services role required to assist staff in navigating the complex computational tools available to analyse the vast amounts of data research is now generating
