The Australia India Water Centre (AIWC) is a virtual centre established by a consortium of Australian and Indian universities, research institutions and water businesses to promote cooperation and collaboration in water research, education, training and capacity building. The Centre will provide a platform for long-term partnerships and dialogue between Australian and Indian water researchers, policy-makers, industry partners and government and non-government organisations to work together for a common goal, ‘UN SDG 6 – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all’.

The Centre is focussed on collaboration in transdisciplinary research, capacity building and knowledge and technology transfer, particularly on aspects of water and food security, safe drinking water supplies, river health, water-energy-food nexus, water for liveable cities and other related facets of mutual benefits to Australia and India through a range of key activities.

The Centre is looking to appoint a Senior Project Officer.

In this position you will operate under the broad direction of the Centre Director and will have responsibility for leading specific project activities and other tasks of the Centre providing high level advice to the Centre Director and Centre Executives. You will also be required to work in cooperation and collegially with AIWC partners to deliver various functions.

You will assist in developing educational and training programs, external funding applications and the framework for governance, financial and milestone reporting, communication networks and in marketing and promotion of the Australian arm of AIWC.

You will engage with Australian and Industry Partners to develop collaboration in water and food security research, creation of a joint Masters level program in sustainable water futures, student and staff exchanges, workshops, conferences and webinars and providing short-term training in water sector to government agencies and other participants.

You will coordinate meetings, and prepare documentation regularly with AIWC Board, Centre Advisory Group (CAG) and Centre Operation Group (COG) for planning, review and update on Centre operation.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years based at the Hawkesbury Campus.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $120,879 to $134,189 p.a. (comprising Salary of $102,144 to $113,391 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
