Western Sydney University is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Officer to join our Next Generation Sequencing Facility - a modern, well-equipped facility utilising cutting-edge NGS technology and offering a broad range of NGS applications with a main focus on metagenomics. After appropriate training, the Senior Technical Officer will be responsible for data generation using the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platforms and will assist in the day-to-day running of the Next Generation Sequencing Facility. 

The position holder will utilise their expertise of broad areas of standard molecular biology techniques and hands-on next-generation sequencing techniques. Duties will also include quality control and processing of customers’ samples, maintenance of laboratory equipment. Accuracy, attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are important elements of this role. 

This is a full-time, ongoing role based at the Hawkesbury campus.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $96,761 to $103,754 p.a. (comprising Salary of $81,764 to $87,673 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
