The Learning Sciences Institute Australia (LSIA) is a national education research institute engaging in vigorous, socially relevant and ethically committed research to improve outcomes for children and young adults. LSIA provides a forum for researchers, scholars, policy makers and practitioners to generate new knowledge about 21st Century teaching and learning, diversity, engagement and well-being. As Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow you will contribute to generating new understandings of how to strengthen mathematical knowledge and develop the capacity to apply mathematics when solving real world problems in personal, civic and work life. Your research activity and output will support the enhancement of mathematics and numeracy teaching and learning practices across all disciplines both within and outside of school contexts.  

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate: 

  • a PhD in a relevant research field
  • evidence of strong (RF) or outstanding (SRF) research achievement
  • success in working within a research team on competitive grants
  • experience in co-supervising Honours and/or Master’s projects.

Total remuneration valued to $114,172 - $134,629 pa, including salary component $96,477 - $113,908 pa (Academic Classification Level B) or to $142,789 - $155,030 pa, including salary component $120,882 - $131,344 pa (Academic Classification Level C), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
