About us

The Built Environment and Business Sustainability (BEBS) business unit is responsible for the Department of Justice and Regulation’s management of assets, accommodation planning, capital project delivery, fleet management, archives, mail and environmental issues.

About the role

The Environment and Climate Change Coordinator will form part of an enthusiastic and committed team that is responsible for the department’s state-wide environment program. The coordinator role will be responsible for a range of both office-based and operational environmental initiatives.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • coordinating the department's Environmental Management System, based on the ISO 14001 standard, including the development of Environmental Management Plans and associated audits
  • coordinating the department’s climate change initiatives, including adaptation planning and TAKE2 pledges
  • leading a number of environmental projects on a variety of functional areas.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have proven experience and ability to undertake relevant planning, implementation, training and monitoring of initiatives within the environmental field, preferably within a government context. You will have strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to sustain lasting relationships with stakeholder groups in order to achieve business objectives.
