CSIRO has an opportunity for a talented and passionate Communications Manager to cover a parental leave period. You will work closely with CSIRO’s Services team to drive business to business development, customer engagement and brand awareness.

The Services Business Unit at CSIRO provides services to help businesses, industry and governments capture value from CSIRO's science, technology and research and this role manages the communications portfolio for CSIRO Futures, SME Connect and Infrastructure Technologies.

As the Communications Manager, you’ll develop strategies and execute activities to showcase CSIRO’s brand. You’re detail-orientated, pragmatic and have demonstrated success in devising, implementing and evaluating high-impact content and campaigns. Managing and building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

Your duties will include:

  • Building and managing constructive relationships and working as a strategic and trusted partner to develop and deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Developing marketing and communication strategies to support the strategic priorities of CSIRO’s Services team.
  • Creating, executing and measuring marketing-communication activities that support customer communication, engagement and lead generation strategies.
  • Delivering campaigns and events to drive CSIRO’s awareness and engagement with general public, plus research, industry and government audiences.
  • Creating engaging and relevant content for our target audiences – content for use in digital or media to illustrate CSIRO collaboration, science and impact – focusing on it being relevant, engaging and accessible.
  • Building and maintain team-focused relationships across all areas of the Corporate Affairs team.
  • Other duties as directed.

Location: Dutton Park, QLD or Clayton, VIC. 
Salary: AU$102k - AU$111k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term of 13 months, Full time.

To be considered you will need:

  • 5 + years experience with a relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant work experience in marketing communications.
  • Evidence of successfully developing and implementing strategies to reach business audiences.
  • Proven skills in building strong partnerships with stakeholders to develop organisational and cross-functional marketing initiatives that translate into business opportunities.
  • Strong writing skills, especially relating to the development of business-to-business marketing collateral and campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of digital marketing principles
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing circumstances to achieve team objectives.
