The SKA Observatory (SKAO) is coordinating a global effort to build the largest science facility on the planet, to transform our understanding of the Universe.
 
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and dynamic accounting professional to involve yourself in hands-on accounting combined with strategic support for budgeting and procurement activities for a newly established organisation that is going to grow significantly over the next few years.

Your duties will include:

  • Support the end-to-end management of the SKAO AUS financial ledger.
  • Support related monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities.
  • Assist with the preparation budgets and forecasts.
  • Reviewing finance processes and identifying opportunities to automate and streamline activities.
  • Ensure that local procurement activity is compliant with the SKAO Procurement Policy and procedures.

Location: Perth or Geraldton, Western Australia
Salary: AU$102k - AU$111k pa (pro-rata for part-time), plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:Indefinite – Full-time, Part-time or Job-share

To be considered you will need:

  • Relevant CCAB accounting qualification (ACCA / ACA / CIPFA preferred), or working towards a CCAB accounting qualification with significant relevant experience in finance and procurement roles.
  • Experience in the end-to-end management of a financial ledger including reporting to regulatory and statutory authorities.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating proactively, consulting and sharing resources to accomplish business objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail, both in preparing your own work and reviewing the work of others to ensure a high standard.
