Agriculture and Food (A&F) is CSIRO’s largest research business unit (BU). We apply world class multidisciplinary science, technology and facilities, IP and global networks across the value chain to create healthier, trusted, safer and more sustainable food and fibre for the future.
CSIRO is seeking a senior scientist to lead the research in the growing area of sustainability transitions, including defining the science strategy to enable sustainability transitions towards social, economic, and environmental outcomes in regional and rural communities in Australia. In this role you will be a key point of contact for external stakeholders and the wider innovation system. You will liaise internally and externally to garner the resources required to drive our research impact in sustainability transitions and assemble high performing multi-disciplinary capability from across CSIRO to deliver high impact outcomes.
This role will collaborate broadly across CSIRO, engage with Mission research initiatives including Towards Net Zero Mission and the Valuing Sustainability Future Science Platform, to lead research into how to enable regional transitions to sustainable futures.
Locations: Brisbane, Canberra, or Adelaide preferred
Salary: AU$141,949 – AU$157,055 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be eligible to work in CSIRO you must be an Australian/ New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or ab Australian temporary resident with a valid working visa for the duration of the specified term.
