CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Transformational Bioinformatics
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience. These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be developing and leading a new initiative to identify actionable genomic insights from sequencing data that go beyond single-gene risk, annotation and rule-based assessments. Specifically, they will help develop machine learning methods that can identify novel disease genes or learn from historic expert annotations to prioritize variants for manual curation. Furthermore, they will build the infrastructure of the future for genome-based analytics and clinical applications.
Location: Sydney NSW (preferred); Adelaide SA, Brisbane QLD, Canberra ACT or Melbourne VIC considered
Salary: AU$89k - AU$98k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
