Space Systems Engineer
As the Space Systems Engineer with CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (CASS), you will support the Space Technology Future Science Platform (Space FSP) in its aim to achieve impact through novel, multi?disciplinary and collaborative science and engineering. Drawing on your space system design and engineering expertise, you will support the delivery of the Space FSP research program to build world-leading capability and drive cutting-edge research within CSIRO. In this newly created position, you will play a key role in creating societal benefits and commercial opportunities and help transform the Australian space sector. A number of Space FSP projects will seek to achieve spaceflight readiness within two years and will be a key focus of your role. The position has the potential to expand based on expected development of new projects and possible larger programs of work in the next few years.
You may also be called on to provide support on spacecraft design to the AquaWatch Australia Mission. CSIRO, in partnership with the SmartSat CRC and other organisations, is developing AquaWatch Australia as part of its emerging Missions portfolio, to establish an integrated ground-to-space national water quality monitoring system.

Salary: AU$113k - AU$132k per annum (pro-rata for part-time), plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will hold a minimum of bachelor-level qualifications in a relevant engineering or applied physics discipline, and have at least 5–10 years’ experience in spacecraft engineering.
