CSIRO Education and Outreach (CEdO) is seeking a motivated individual with strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills to be part of the STEM Professionals in Schools program as the Industry Engagement Manager.

In this diverse role, you will join a national team implementing the successful STEM Professionals in Schools program. You will contribute to the leadership and growth of the program with a focus on increasing business and industry engagement and participation in the program.

Your duties will include

  • Identifying and progressing opportunities for the program to engage and build relationships with industry to achieve outcomes of benefit to CEdO and our partners.
  • Taking the lead in identifying solutions to encourage industry participation and supporting these partnerships to promote their success and longevity.
  • Contributing in a collegiate manner to strategic planning with the program and wider CEdO team to ensure opportunities for partnerships and engagements are developed and prosper.       
  • Taking the lead in managing the development of contractual arrangements between CSIRO and parties as required.
  • Contributing to research and evaluation processes for STEM Partnerships in Schools projects/initiatives.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective ongoing relationships with key stakeholders including promotion of the program and increasing growth in participation.

Location:  Negotiable - Melbourne (Clayton) VIC, Sydney (North Ryde) NSW, Adelaide SA, Hobart, TAS, Brisbane (Dutton Park) QLD), Perth WA, Canberra ACT.

Salary: AU$98k - AU$106k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term until 30th June 2020

To be successful you will need

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a STEM discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Strong industry stakeholder engagement experience and analytical skills to identify mutual alignment of interests across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills coupled with the ability to influence relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • High-level problem solving and judgement skills coupled with the ability to deal with incomplete information and ambiguity when developing responses and strategies.
  • A current driver's licence and the ability to travel locally and interstate.
  • A valid Working with Children Check or equivalent or the willingness and ability to gain one and to consent to a National Police Check if your application is successful.
