The Opportunity
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years relevant postdoctoral work experience.
The CERC Postdoctoral Fellow will use new generation telescopes and innovative new techniques, involving the turbulence in the solar wind, to identify and study the most compact objects in our Universe via the effects of Inter-Planetary Scintillation. These compact objects will include pulsars and the most extreme extragalactic radio sources. These studies also provide a means of studying “space weather” and tracing explosive events in the solar wind.
Your duties will include
Location: Kensington, Perth or Marsfield, Sydney
Tenure: Specified term of 3 years
Salary: AU$83K – AU$94K + up to 15.4% superannuation
