Personal Assistant - Director Governance

The Position

CSIRO Governance is seeking to appoint an Administrative Officer (Personal Assistant) to provide high level secretarial and administrative support to the Director. You will co-ordinate the day to day activities of the Deputy Director by arranging travel, diary management and monitoring email traffic.

A successful Personal Assistant will have previous experience supporting leadership, maintain confidentiality and discretion in sensitive matters, demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as possess a ‘can do’ approach.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing practical support to the Director, dealing with issues and interactions with key stakeholders and external parties.
  • Reviewing, evaluating and monitoring the Director's email, prioritising tasks and deadlines.
  • Provide high-level administrative support including the collation and formatting of relevant papers and correspondence on behalf of the Director.
  • Monitor, prioritise and follow up on issues that need to be drawn to the Director’s attention in a timely manner
  • Contribute positively to a culture of a high performing Business Unit, through demonstrated alignment with CSIRO’s expected behaviours and values.

Location:             Canberra, ACT preferred, other locations negotiable

Salary:                 $61K to $78K plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure:                Indefinite

To be successful, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing secretarial or administrative support to a Senior Manager or Executive in a fast paced and complex environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, to manage workflow processes and on-line transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, positively contributing to the team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information, and use appropriate judgment and discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise demands, and escalate issues when required.
