Position Summary

As an experienced Digital Designer, you will be responsible to ensure the success of RMIT strategy through creating and developing dig ital assets for RMIT’s social media platform as well as to educate and guide stakeholders on effective approach in-line to our audiences and wider content strategy. In this position, you will manage and execute ideas and create digital design assets which includes infographics, presentations, process maps, posters, EDMs, video and web graphics. To be successful, you will need to be creative, willingness to try alternative approach and the skill to channel messaging to wider audiences as well internal and external stakeholders through astute, innovative and clever well-chosen design. In addition to this, you will be working collaboratively with the Digital Communications team and also directly with stakeholders to provide resource that are brand and user/viewer friendly. Coming into this position, you will focus to contribute and produce high quality design services and to ensure digital communications design are deliver on time.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be involved in assignment briefing and converting ideas to deliver effective digital designs within stipulated time frame
  • Execute creative direction from the Producer and work collaboratively to come up with various excellent original design solution
  • Design, develop and produce competitive digital ideas and approaches to meet everyday challenges and opportunities
  • Ensure a high standard of service and excellent quality of work is given to our stakeholders as well as working in partnership with the Digital Communications team in increase the standards of digital creativity
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and contributing to the team through knowledge sharing and exploring new and innovative ideas

Skills and Experience Required

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in relevant discipline with commensurate professional working experience at similar level
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a digital designer in an agency environment working across wide range of branding and digital design projects is desirable
  • Intermediate to advanced Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge and expertise in designing for mobile and desktop, as well as producing and delivering wide varieties of digital creative for web and video
  • Demonstrated in depth understanding of new media and digital technology to provide impactful outcomes
  • Proven track record of executing and delivering multiple high-quality projects accurately, efficiently and with excellent attention to detail
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work flexibly
  • Passion and commitment to build strong relationships across all levels of professional staff within the organisation as well as external stakeholders to educate, support and provide advice on content solutions while meeting competing deadlines
