An exciting opportunity exists for an qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist 2  with a strong interest in and commitment to HIV and Sexual Health nursing to join the very experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary Sexual Health Service.

Royal North Shore Community Health Centre and Brookvale Community Health Centre

What you'll be doing

Provide high quality client care and clinical leadership through a co-ordinated, proactive approach that targets the needs of clients with HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) attending NSLHD Sexual Health services. Participate in research that supports the current HIV and STI strategies aimed at reducing HIV transmission. 80% of this role is clinical with 20% supporting Clinic research and Quality Improvement projects

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them

  2. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with relevant post registration qualifications applicable to HIV/Sexual Health and Research with at least 3 years recent full time equivalent HIV (including Sexual Health) clinical experience

  3. Evidence of advanced clinical practice in caring for clients with HIV and STI’s including demonstrated contribution to the development of clinical practice relating to HIV

  4. Recent experience or interest in research, clinical trials and Quality Improvement. Demonstrated understanding of ICH-GCP principles for the conduct of Clinical Trials

  5. Demonstrated advanced leadership skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, quality care and team cohesion

  6. Evidence of personal time management capability, ability to prioritise and effective negotiation skills

  7. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and electronic)

  8. Proven computer literacy (including eMR, CHOC and powerchart) and data management skills
