Take the lead in the management of Higher Degree Research at Charles Darwin University.

CDU is ranked in the top 2 percent of world universities and is currently ranked 31st in the top 100 universities in the world under 50 years of age. CDU’s research intensity ranks alongside that of members of the Group of Eight research-intensive universities, a fact easily hidden by CDU’s size. Research at CDU is supported by the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) which delivers high quality centralised service across CDU. This support includes: business development and grant submissions, post award administration, research ethics and integrity, higher degree research (HDR) student administration, research training for research staff and students, HDR scholarship management and training, and the collection, analysis and reporting of CDU’s research activities.

As the Manager – Higher Degree by Research, you will lead a reform agenda – in response to recommendations outlined in a recent external review of CDU’s approach to HDR administration. The scope of this work will include strengthening policies, guidelines, business processes and underpinning systems to achieve high level service provision. The systematic strengthening of HDR administration will provide the necessary building blocks for CDU to support significant growth of HDR enrolments in a re-focused Institute of Advanced Studies.

To be successful you need relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive relevant management experience in combination with a demonstrated ability to critically review and analyse the success of programs, and to develop and implement proposals that strategically respond to those findings.
