Vail Resorts own and operate ski areas including iconic resorts such as Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham in Australia as well as Park City, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb and Vail in North America. This role is based at Perisher, the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, located in the beautiful Snowy Mountains region of South-Eastern NSW and just a two-hour drive from Canberra and the Far South Coast.
In this role you will be responsible for leading Environmental Management and Sustainability initiatives across our three Australian Resorts (Perisher, Hotham and Falls Creek). You’ll lead the development, practical implementation and review of Vail Resorts Australia’s Environmental Management System documentation, with a view to achieving ISO14001 certification. You will develop, implement and support programs to drive Vail Resorts Australia towards Vail’s ‘Commitment to Zero’ sustainability goals, including: reducing energy use and improving overall energy efficiency, waste avoidance and diversion strategies, and engagement and education programs for internal and external stakeholders.
This role oversees and supervises Vail Resorts Australia’s compliance with the environmental elements of approved development consents, including construction environmental management. You will be responsible for setting environmental performance targets, monitoring performance and preparing reports and submissions to relevant government planning and land management authorities as well as to Vail Resorts Australian and North American executive teams.
