The main areas of specialisation include breast care, gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, maternity, maternal-fetal medicine, menopause, newborn intensive care and reproductive medicine.

Each year the Hospital delivers more than 4,000 babies and cares for more than 600 premature infants. It provides a unique opportunity for trainees in neonatology to obtain clinical experience in tertiary perinatal medicine including exposure to neonatal surgical and subspecialty services and works in close liaison with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network Randwick.

The Royal Hospital for Women is situated between the University of New South Wales and Coogee Beach.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) currently seeking the services of experienced Neonatology Trainees to undertake advanced training. This is a unique opportunity for trainees in neonatology to obtain clinical experience in tertiary perinatal medicine including exposure to neonatal surgical and subspecialty services.

  1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
  2. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise
  4. Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills
  5. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  7. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
  8. Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
